Pros And Cons Of Carpet Shampooing Vs Dry Dry

Carpet cleaning is done to remove dirt, stains, and dust from carpets with the help of a machine that spins around. Common methods used for carpet cleaning include dry-clean, hot water extraction, and steam cleaning. Dry cleaning is an effective method that remove stains but may not be suitable for carpets with embedded wrinkles and crevices. It also causes a gradual decrease in the carpet’s longevity. Hot water extraction uses warm water in high pressure to remove stains from the carpet, while dry cleaning utilizes a vacuum to loosen soil and dirt from the carpet. Steam cleaning has become the most popular carpet cleaning method today.

With dry carpet cleaning, there are three methods to choose from: wet dry cleaning, or low moisture dry cleaning. Wet dry cleaning involves using a low moisture shampoo to clean the carpet, followed by the application of a stain removal agent. The main disadvantage with this method is that it can leave behind spots and stains. On the other hand, it does have a relatively quick drying time.

Another option is the use of foam. Foam is spread onto the carpet by rotary brushes. After it becomes saturated, it is brushed out on a roller with the help of a fan. The foam cleans the carpet fibers thoroughly by drawing out dirt and oil particles from the fibers. However, foam can cause some damage to the carpet by removing too much moisture.

Vacuuming is also a preferred technique among home owners to remove soils and dislodged soils in soiled carpets. However, this process may not always remove all traces of dirt and dust. So the owner may need to do another cleaning session to completely get rid of all traces of soil and dirt. Homeowners can choose from the two methods of rinsing: quick soiling or slow soiling.

For quick soiling, homeowners are recommended to apply a carpet shampooing solution containing foam encapsulation material. This solution will help draw out most of the soil and dust immediately from the carpet fibers. After it dries up, homeowners can vacuum the carpet again. On the other hand, for long-term removal of residues left behind by carpet shampooing, homeowners are advised to use a dry carpet shampoo machine.

Carpet absorbent pads are another method that most carpet manufacturers recommend. These absorbent pads can be placed over soiled areas to reduce moisture. They work in the same manner as foam encapsulation machines. However, instead of drawing out the soil and contaminants, these absorbent pads leave behind a sticky residue that can be vacuumed up. However, there are some homeowners who believe that these products do not remove very deep soils that have settled after soiling. For this kind of problem, it is advisable to hire the services of professional carpet cleaning experts.
