Cleaning a professional hardwood floor is easy, but what about other floors? It’s not too often that I have a client come to me who has the flooring installed and he wants to do it himself. The reason for this is because they want to save money or they are unsure if they can do it themselves.
We always go over the proper tools and equipment to use with our clients and we will always recommend them to purchase the right tools and get the right training. If they are not comfortable with that, I will suggest that they use the services of a professional.
What about the best way to clean a hardwood floor? Well, some of us believe that chemicals are the way to go. That is not the case. A good product will be more effective and safer.
The only problem with using such harsh chemicals is the health risk to the family. We must never play around with things like this. If you are wondering what I mean by that, read the label of any cleaning agent that you buy.
I see people using these products for all kinds of things including washing their floors, but if the label says, “Caution – Dermatitis Possible” then chances are that it will cause allergies in many people. I know that our company, The Floor Experts, does not recommend using any form of chemical on any type of floor.
If you really want to keep your floor in its best condition for years to come then you should get the help of someone that knows what they are doing and do it yourself. Sometimes you may need to take the time to put the work in and then come back in a few days and ask for a quote.
You will be surprised at how much money you can save if you clean the floors on your own. The last thing you want to do is spend more money than you had to with your hardwood floor installation.
If you are going to hire a professional hardwood floor cleaning company, then you will want to make sure they are insured, bonded and insured to clean and maintain the floor for the amount of time that you pay them. Remember, the right cleaning is worth every penny you spend.
